17.2.1 Relationships to support the SDG Policy Development

The Applied Science Private University as a body have direct involvement in national government policy developments – including identifying problems and challenges. One of the important roles played by the university is participation in many governmental bodies in the form of appointed representatives serving on many committees to support the government efforts in improving the health system and people’s lives. Examples of such partnerships include:

1. Partner in UNESCO Chair for Data Science & Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development.
2. Signed MoU together with NGOs and partner universities under the umbrella of UN High Commissioner for Refugees to establish an Alliance for Higher Education to support accessibility of refugees to higher education in Jordan.
3. Many faculty members are experts who are part of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) as well as Jordan Pharmacist Association (JPA). In addition, MOUs were also signed with JFDA and JPA to extend the collaboration between ASU and these organizations.
