Reviving Heritage with A Needle & Thread: An Embroidery Workshop for Students at Al-Hassad International Schools

As part of the community outreach activities carried out by the Fashion & Accessories Design Department at the Faculty of Art & Design at ASU, the department organized an embroidery workshop on Thursday, April 9th, for students from Al-Hassad International Schools. The workshop aimed to enhance students awareness of our heritage and traditional crafts.
A group of students participated in the workshop, where they learned the basics of embroidery using the cross-stitch technique. Each student created a personalized keychain featuring their initials, in a hands-on experience that blended learning with creativity.
The workshop was supervised by Dr. Sara Al-Khateeb and Lec. Naji Al-Najjar, aiming to introduce students to one of the traditional crafts rooted in local culture, helping preserve it and pass it on to younger generations through an engaging and interactive approach.
